upward into dark blue air, for percussion and electronics

It was the poetic nature of the phrase that attracted me to the title initially, however, I also see it as a reference to the joyful abandonment of the music. As your cares slip away and you give yourself over to the music and allow your hands to drift upward into the dark blue air of the night.

The piece requires the following instruments;

Kick Drum with pedal
Two pieces of tuned metal (sounding F# and A)
One piece of glass or pottery (sounding C#)
Two Woodblocks (medium and high)

upward into dark blue air has a continuous electronic track running throughout the piece. The performer will require a click track to ensure precise sync with the electronics.
